Replying seems to be going OK for me today.  I've just gotten out of the habit of coming out here!  :-)

8 miles on tap for me tonight and then going to watch election results.  Hope everyone is having a good day so far!

Dh and I got up early so we could vote before we left town, for most of the day. :( I was a volunteer for blood glucose tolerance lab today, so I couldn't eat, but I often do not eat before a run anyway, so it wasn't that big of a deal. We had BG tested when lab started at 8:00, to get fasting data, then we rode the spin bikes for awhile and had our BG tested again. I was one of the two who were the control; the experimental group did the same things, except they had to drink a 24 oz Faygo orange pop (for the 100 g glucose), get their BG tested, then ride and have the final BG test after their workout. It was interesting, and it gave me more empathy for people like my niece who are Type I. I have a kinesiology exam this afternoon so I better get to the review for that. I am hoping I am pretty much ready. I've been trying. I am supposed to run 4 miles sometime today, guess it'll be after the exam. Have a good day everyone. Heather - sorry your run got cut short, but, pretty much for all practical purposes, you've done the work for this marathon already. Dawn - I hope your quad loosens up Maria - that's cute that your choice of candidate was being announced; I am glad the crowd was friendly. Tess - yay, kick the dog out. Our dog sleeps with us too, sometimes she does this little growl thing if we kinda kick her under the covers to move her. She then jumps down and sighs heavily as she lies on the floor. Karen - I thought we were having some cold mornings, WTG on the run though. Amanda - I kinda like doing something different when I am not training for a race

Good morning all. I got up early and voted before the extra kids arrived here. Caleb was so cute - In line, he was telling everyone who I was voting for this morning. Luckily, the others around us were saying "Good choice" so he was happy about that. I had a nice workout last night but today will either be a rest day or a DVD. I have so much going on tonight that I won't have time for anything else.

Off to play with the kiddos and get a few things accomplished. I'll try to do some replies later.

Good morning! Rest day for me. I'm working a split shift, so I have lunch with my girlfriends and I may try to go exchange a couple of t-shirts at Target.. Other than that, not too much going on today. Since I'm post-race with nothing to train for at the moment, I'm thinking of jump-starting some cross training by doing 30 Day Shred the way it was intended -- in 30 days. Maybe slightly modified -- taking 1 day off each week or maybe one day between the three sections -- but as close to as possible. Anyway...trying to decide if I'm that committed. ;)

Karen - nothing like a little perspective, right? Glad the 34* didn't feel terrible.

TH - I agree with Karen, it was probably the best week to have an unplanned-type of run. Sorry it wasn't what you'd hoped for though!

have a great day, everyone!

good morning.  I'm heading out in a few minutes.  It's a beautiful morning for a run.  I ran late last night and when I went to bed the puppy was in my spot.  I can't stand it when that happens.  Sean sleeps really poorly so kicking the puppy out sometimes wakes Sean.  I slept in the guest room.  :(  I left a note for Sean because it's twice this week.  I don't want him thinking I'm ditching him!  Meanwhile...the dog is gonna get kicked out of the bedroom.  This isn't cute...

Karen, it's 44*!  I love it. So warm.  :)  (how ridiculous is it that 44* is warm?)  So glad you got up and ran this morning!

Heather, Sorry your run was cut short.  I'm with Karen, glad it was a short run for sure.

Dawn, baby that leg.  I hope it feels better soon.  I'm with you on the pain.  So not worth it for the race of that distance (unless it was your favorite race of all time...you look forward to it...you trained for it...you get where I'm going).

Have a great day Ladies.

TH, I'd say it's great that happened during marathon week! Better than a day you were supposed to do, like, 10 at marathon pace. :) I got up today and ran 5 miles. It was 24*, but i wasn't too cold. I didn't even wear gloves! And TH, I ran at 6:40. lol. You guys get up SO early. Funny thing is, John was just talking about how crazy i was to run in 18* last winter, and this was pretty close, and not so bad. I think i just missed running *that* much. lol. So tonight will be not much going on again. Dinner, homework, staying warm. I have a PTO meeting tomorrow night so i'll enjoy the nothing-ness of tonight.

Good Morning!  I took another rest day this morning.  My left quad is incredibly sore from the race on Sunday.  Yeah, it was a 4.2 mile race.  So not worth 2 rest days!  Oh, well.  I'm hoping it will be good enough to run tomorrow morning.

Tonight is basketball practice.  And I need to vote either before I pick the kids up from school or after Chandler gets home from Track conditioning.  I was going to vote this morning, but already had packed up all my work stuff and was ready to go by 6:50.  The polls don't open until 8, so I decided to just go to work!

TH, sorry for the bad run this morning!

I was supposed to run 4 easy miles this morning, but I snoozed and decided 3 was enough.  I hit the streets about 6:10, and it was 34*.  A "potty emergency" sent me sprinting home early, so I only managed 2.2 miles this morning.  Blah.  Not a good way to run marathon week!

I am meeting a friend for coffee this morning, then I have a bunch of cleaning and errands to do.

Have a great day, all!
