I was fortunate enough to be able to sleep in this morning. I ran late last night with one of my neighborhood friends. She typically runs at about a 12 minute mile, and I pushed her a little to finish a little over 4 miles with an 11:27 average pace. She was really happy about it. I am planning to do a workout DVD this morning. We have an Easter egg hunt today and then we are going to the zoo. I'll count all the walking there, pushing a double stroller, as a nice workout too. I love finding ways to incorporate exercise into my daily life. We are meeting friends at the park later this afternoon so that will be fun too.
This morning, I need to vacuum and help the kids straighten up their rooms. My family will be here tomorrow afternoon and I have a long run tomorrow morning so this is my chance to get it done. This is going to be SUCH a busy weekend! Hope everyone has a wonderful day and a blessed Easter weekend!
Good morning ladies.
I am swimming with Catherine at 10:00. Much of the rest of my day will be working on physics projects. I need to wrap up the research paper and start the long lab report. I also really should do the extra credit paper. :( I have laundry to do too. Yesterday, I had the fastest 3 miles I have ever had on an eliptical. The more I thought about the physics test, the faster I went. I looked at my pace, and it was like I was doing a tempo on the eliptical. :) I had a good weights workout too. Have a good day everyone. Karen - I am glad you got to run home, sorry it still hurts. :( I hope you enjoy your Easter dinnerMo - enjoy good Friday service. I want to comment on the minimalist shoes as we looked extensively at some of the data about minimalist running. It seems that most injuries still arise from the "heel strike" running form, but when people go all or nothing into minimalist footwear, that is not good either. What the shoes are trying to accomplish is a good thing, but most people are not used to running that way. I haven't had a chance to look for data about minimalist shoes and PF, but the data from the source I used specifically for that class project indicated minimalist footwear was better for the knees but possibly slightly worse at the ankle joints.Maria - glad you were able to push your friend a bit, seems like a good pace for 4 miles for someone comfortable running 12 mm. Noel - enjoy your Easter weekend with family.
I woke up 40 minutes late this morning... OOOOPS.
Hey Hey Ladies!
I feel like I've been here this week, but only briefly. :( Sorry, I've been busy and with the holiday, i wanted to make this a long weekend, but that didn't pan out. I at least might get to take a half day today. I'm headed to my parent's for the weekend, yay!
