Hi ladies,

I'm brand new to this board, and super new to the running world as well.  I'm currently in the middle of a 5K training plan (week 6) and I have a question for you all.

During this week I am supposed to run 12 minutes, walk 1 minute (and do this 3 times).  About halfway through the entire run, I start getting an upset stomach.  This persists until about an hour after my run.  Any idea what could be happening? Is this a hydration issue? Or just my body adjusting to the running?  I'm enjoying running so far, and only plan to continue, but would like to kick this nasty tummy wiggle in the rear.  Any suggestions are super appreciated!

Hi Kristy,

I'm no expert but this usually happens to me during exercise if I have not fueled up/hydrated adequately before I workout.

Good luck on your 5K. A group of women at my gym are trying to talk me into doing a dirty girls mud run with them next month. lol It looks like a lot of fun but I'm not sure if mud is my thing. ;-)

Thanks, Karla.  I'll try to focus on my hydration this week and see if it helps.

I've seen the mud runs but not sure if I could do it!  They look fun- but the mud just- ewwww!  We are doing The Color Run next month.  I'm pretty excited about that! :)
