HI Evibert and welcome! You may certainly join us. Just jump in and start your posting. 

I think you need to keep your goals realistic and make sure they fit not only your fitness level, but your time constraints. If I were you and just starting out, I would start by walking as many minutes (not miles) that I felt comfortable with. If you can only manage 5 or 10 then, that is good enough. Add in another minute or two every other day until you get to about 30 minutes then start picking up the pace a little. Once you get to where you can walk 30 minutes at a good steady pace, then move on from there. :-)

i agree with Karla. First set short time goals. Once you achieve those goals, then you can work on distance. Going slow helps prevent injury, which will cause you to lose motivation.
