How do you beat the heat to get in a good walk during the summer?

If someone has a very good idea that doesn't involve waking up at 5 in the morning or walking in the evening I am doing to be very grateful!

I wish there was a better idea than getting up early but, around here, that is the only option --- but not always a very reliable one...

Yep early is about the only option here too because often in the evening it is still like an oven.

When I can I round up friends to go walking near the water just as the sun is going down. Even though it is well lit I feel better going in a group. The breeze coming off the water is very soothing on a hot summer day.

Where we used to live, we went out in the evening - but here, that's not feasible with being on a highway and no lights once you get off the highway; so we're mostly sticking to doing Walk Away the Pounds in our air conditioned church (right across the parking lot from our house, which was the old church, or more commonly referred to as "the little church" - even now that it's a house lol)

They have spritzer fans you can carry while you walk (then unscrew the top and drink and it doubles as a water bottle!)
