Discoloration on stomach under breast

Hello :) The other day while I was getting dressed I noticed what I first thought was a bruise on the upper part of my stomach, just below my breast extending from under the band of my bra. It is a patch of discolored skin about 2 inches across, sort of a light brown color. It doesn't hurt at all. I was having a hard time imagining how I could have gotten a bruise there, so I googled "skin discoloration under breast" and got kinda scared by some of the results! Apparently skin discoloration can be a sign of diabetes, and this worries me because I am pretty overweight, which I know is a risk factor. I don't think this mark exactly fits the mold though. It's not in the fold of skin under my breasts but on the smooth skin on my belly, it isn't raised, and it doesn't itch or feel any different from the surrounding skin. If I closed my eyes and rubbed my fingers over the area I would never know it was there. I am wondering if this could be from my breast constantly rubbing on my belly. I have pretty big boobs, and they do meet my belly in that area - the mark even seems to be in a shape that could conceivably be the same shape as the underside of my breast. It's NOT an irritation, like from chafing - just discolored. It may have been there for ages, I don't know. I just happened to see it because I was trying on a new bra and looked in the mirror. Has anyone experienced this, or know what it could be?

Update :) I figured this out today. It is a bruise, which I realized at work . I'm a librarian and for collecting fines we have an old timey cash register - the kind you have to punch in the numbers and the drawer comes flying out. If you don't step back quickly the draw hits you in the gut - exactly where my mysterious discoloration is. It doesn't hit super hard, so I guess it took repeated times for my skin to start bruising, and it's not one of those wildly colored ones you get when multiple blood vessels break at once. Just a slight bruising where the drawer hits.

Very relieved to have a benign answer to this problem!

I'm glad you figured out what it was.  Smile
