According to a new study, widespread use of defibrillators has saved quite a few lives.

I haven't seen defibrillators used in public places but I work with an organization in my community who has made it their mission to implement AED's into business all round the region.
Many studies have shown that AED's double the chances of survival in the instance of sudden cardiac arrest and are much more effective than CPR.
Unfortunately, there are many public places that still do not have AED's available for use.
It definitely does...:)

Thanks Carol for sharing that.

A few months ago I saw on the local news that a man had collapsed in cardiac arrest on the steps of the county courthouse in Pittsburgh.
We have one at our Local Public Library.
It has been moved but I am aware of the new location in the Library.
I do have my Infant/Adult CPR so I do think if necessary I would definitely help someone in need.
My beloved Mom died of a heart attack many years ago.
Since hers and mine not quite three years ago, I think it's great that they have these available.
I know feel safer having one there.

We had 2 of them where I worked.
