Hi Lori.  Wanted to update you. Had my yearly physical on Monday. All lab work came back fine. total cholestrol is 164, bp was 107 / 70. Don't remember all the other #'s although LDL was good as well as HDL. Best report i've had in a long time.       Laughing     Have to work on losing weight though. Not Dr's orders, but my own. That is the hard part for me.   I also got the shot for Shingles.  Arm is now red, swollen at the site, and warm to the touch. Dr says that is a normal reaction as that is a strong vaccine. Glad I don't have to get it again for 10 years...lol.

Just wanted to give you an update. Hope you are staying well, my friend.

Awesome Rhonda!

I go for mine in March...

A bit nervous, it's my new NP (Nurse Practioner)...

She is really nice so everything should be okay.

I don't ALWAYS deal too well with "Change" but my ds and I have been through so many this past few months...:)...and we are doing really good.

Excited I get to see my dd tomorrow...

Yeah!!!

I cannot wait for better weather, come on Spring!...;)...

Going to go get a vacine myself soon, it's free so that is a definite bonus...the other one isn't but I am considering getting it at a later date.

Recently, I had some blood-work done and everything is fine which is a very big relief.

I take my meds for high blood pressure and high cholesterol among other things.

I am not too concerned about my weight but do exercise (walking) to help maintain it and it's good both for my physical and mental health.

I have RA and OA so some days that can be very challenging, actually MOST days but I definitely feel so much better...

It's such good news Rhonda, my sister had good news to...

Take care,

Lorie

Well that is great you guys.. Keep up good work..

Question if you find this as I didnt want to start a new thread.. I have been on High blood pressure meds but they are very powerful and doctor never really explained them. Since it was a clinic they just gave me something to read.. Well Now I want to wean off but I need to be supervised by a doctor.. I now know where the high bp came from and I can control it naturally... Only thing is should I go back to where I usually go to a clinic I do not like or do I find a real good doctor or heart doctor to help Me.. I am paying out of pocket but it sure might be worth it..

any ideas??

~hugs~

I just saw this...

I am torn between going back to the Clinic that originally prescribed the medication or maybe going to someone else...

The MOST important thing is not to STOP taking them on your own...

For myself personally I know I have to take my medications and probably for the rest of my Life and I am okay with that...it will be five years in May since my Heart Attack...:)...

Please let us know what you decide.

Hi;

No I cant stop taking the medication without supervision.. I am deciding to try the clinic first if they are around as they were destroyed by the hurricane.. I believe I saw that they were open again.. If not there is an affiliate place I can go..

If I think they are not helping me I will then go and have to pay a good doctor to help me. Of course it will be worth it.. MyexH had a very good cardiologist he went to but not sure about any of this but yes except I have to keep taking this stuff..

So are you okay now??

take care and thanks for the response

Wean yourself slowly with a Dr's supervision. Research natural ways to keep your bp normal. Lifestyle changes, daily exercise, etc.  Do you have other heart issues besides the bp?  You could consider seeing a cardiologist. Then if he thinks maybe you don't need to see him all the time you can find another General Practioner.

I feel like I drank the kool aide when the doctor gave me some very potent high bp drugs.. I didnt read how serious they were so now I have found some natural things to lower the bp and I know it can work... So have to wean off these high potent meds somehow with a doctor.. No heart problems but who knows if clinic doctors are competent enough.. Look at what they did in first place. Gave me drugs that were too potent..I am going to go to clinic first and then the local hospital. they should have better doctors.. I dont have medical insurance so I freak out easily (lol)

thank You
