I have been struggling with asthma for the last month, and have been in and out of the ER. The medication they have put me on only gives me some control, and the side effects are rather scary. My BP reads today: 180/90, 158/135, 155/132. My pulse runs 100-120. I am so afraid I am going to die of a heart attack or stroke waiting for the doctor to figure this out. Is there a number that if I reach that, I know that I am in danger and need to seek immediate medical attention. How high do I let it go? I can't stop taking the medicine, because I immediately start wheezing and struggling to breathe. I am really scared and feel that the doctors have abandoned me.

My sister and I both have Asthma so I know how frightening this is.

She just went for tests yesterday and her one lung partially collapsed.

My heart guy told me he was more worried about my Lungs than my heart.

I really don't know what to say...my sister told me that the doctor told her sometimes they just don't know what to do or how to handles Asthma patients and sometimes better care for heart issues.

They really thought she was having a heart attack but so far it looks good.

If you aren't sure go to the hospital.

My heart goes out to you because I know it's very scary.

This might be a good question to ask Dr. Fernstrom.
