Trouble shared is trouble halved (?)

I've known that in Switzerland every year there are 17000 arranged marriages, i'm not the only one in this condition. Yesterday i escorted my husband in the capital city, i had some problems in the restaurant because at every bit i had to lift the lower part of the niqab to insert the fork but in any case i broke the routine. In this context a woman's face and body are considered precious and only a close male relative can see them, a woman must be modest and i regret my behaviour in my late teens. The loss of freedom was a sort of gift because i've learned to turn pain in something of positive.
Hi Aisha,
Great to see you back! Do you find you get treated differently because of the way you dress? How so?

Do you go many places in public? Do you usually go with your husband? Do you sometimes go with other women?

I spend most of my time at home, i'm allowed to go out only if veiled and possibly escorted by a close male relative but sometimes i go out alone or in women's company when necessary. About my clothes i have no choice, women here are veiled of black, it's the only way to have a public space :-( .
How did you discover iVillage? Do many of your friends in your homeland visit iVillage or other message boards?

I discovered this message board in Switzerland, i suppose to be the only one in this context, i don't know.
