I have the impression that the so-called modern world is over, with mass-drug and the destruction of environment, I am aware of that even living in this village, now I understand the decision of my father to pull me out from western civilization. I am also pregnant of my 6th child, the childbirth is expected for the end of the year.

Congratulations Aisha!

I think one of the real problems is cable news rather than lack of values. We are bombarded daily with bad things. I'm betting if they blasted good things day in and day out, everyone would think the world had straightened up.

Congratulations on the baby. Six is amazing. I have two and don't know if I'm coming or going half the time!

I'm curious how your father feels about you accessing western civilization sites, since you mentioned him taking you away from it. Just seems like you'd still be immersed in the mixed cultures and overall atmosphere. How does your husband feel about western civilization?

In my family traditions have their importance but my husband is relatively modern, he doesn't hate western civilization but limits himself to criticize some negative things. Ivillage is almost the only western site i enter, i use to visit religious sites. My father still lives in Europe so he doesn't know much about my life, i heard him lately talking about my new pregnancy.
