It's a mix here, rain and snow. Although they are predicting 1-3 inches, I'd be very surprised if we get that much.  It's raining now....and has been for 5 days...UGH!

We have had temps in the 50s but they say it will get a little colder and chance of precip for one day then the temps are going back up. I like it...

I got a new dishwasher about 3 years ago, I thought it was strange when I got it, it seems to run forever and there was no setting to just wash and rince like the old one that had a dial on it. This one has a touch pad like a microwave. I hate for that thing to run on the dry cycle for ever.....it is a Maytag I figured that it would be the last one I would ever have. But now while I can set the heavy, medium and lite load that is as far as any lights and it will not run... So we were going to have out fixit man come down and he said that if there is something in that panel it would cost at least the same or more as getting a good machine on sale new....to borrow your word

"UGH"

If you look at this machine inside or out you would think it was less than a month old. Really makes me want to cuss....when are you old enough to cuss and people think it is cute? Del's grandmother was like 94........lol

We are sitting here wondering about the people in the east. Since they are getting our weather and what are they thinking? The NYC mayor said to hunker down and stay out of your cars don't go out and wait for the storm to pass. That is a good idea. But what are they doing? Everyone is out filling their cars up with gas? To go where? If it gets as bad as it sounds your best bet is not to go out.

Ok, years ago after horse and buggy times but before huge snow plows etc, when there was a blizzard coming people would go and buy all the milk and bread from the stores. And the reason for that was? I am not sure. When I was a kid and we would have a blizzard and all the kids were home from school, mom would bake, bread , cookies and cakes and have a roast in the oven for supper, the house was warm and smelled so good. The next day if we couldn't get out we  would back up the refrigerator cookies that we got to decorate. Then when we could get out again and go to school we would take cookies to school for our classes. And back then it would be, sometimes a few days before the streets in our little town would be plowed and we never were in a panic. Today in our worse blizzard of 10 or more inches of blowing and drifting snow it would still only be a day after it quit before you could go get the mail if you wanted....And even though my dad was the milk man and we had 5 kids at home and all those cookies we STILL never drank 6 gallons of milk or ate 6 loaves of bread.

It is just a wonder when we are sitting back here watching everyone panic like that. When I remember blizzards as a warm and cozy family time.

You are so right people do fear the weather.. Something that no one can control.. I for one did not go out and buy like crazy.. * I don't think people really think .. I have enough in the house to keep me warm and cozy.. Your story here is nice to read because in those days of yesterday are wonderful memories I have in my mind too..
