I've three birthdays this month. Two DGS and my DD will be celebrating.
Then I'm going to three doctors this month all in one week.
My DS and I have a "family" reunion on the 12th. I have two TOPS meetings (besides our weekly one!) this month and at least one Red Hat function that I'll be attending. We have been having VD meetings once a month all summer and there is one of them scheduled again the end of this month.
Sometimes I swear I need a vacation from my retirement!!!! Maybe one of these days I'll be able to take one!
I got into something that made me itch all over my arms and legs this past week. Not fun at all! No rash, just the itch! Grrrrr...... Almost have it stopped, but sure do wish I knew what got it started! I am thinking it must be something that my DS is using out in the greenhouse.
We are still really hurting for rain here in my state ~ as are many of you too. Sure am glad I'm not raising a garden this year as I did many years ago. I'd have had to be watering daily!
Have a great month, ya'll!

You are loved ~~ far more than you may ever know!
Nothing much planned. I also have 3 doctors appointments this week. I have to be at the one at 8:45 tomorrow morning. With the results from procedures no telling what they might want to next next. We have had rain everyday. 80% chance tomorrow. Well don't have to worry about watering the flowers, but the grass is during a double growth . Cut it on Monday and needs to be done again by Friday.................elllie-mite
Wrote another post for this but somewhere it disappeared. I also has 3 doctors appointments this week starting with tomorrow at 8:45 am. No telling want they have in their mind as what will be next when all the test results of the procedures they did. We have had rain every day for quite sometime. Don't have to worry about watering the flowers, but it sure does make the grass grow twice as fast.......elllie-mite
Filly here from Montreal Canada,
August is a mix of lazy and busy:-) We are still at our cottage on the lake for another few weeks enjoying some r & r. The weather has been fabulous and we have had lazy hazy hammock days;-)
We are going on a small cruise in mid august followed by a week in Quebec city for a music festival. We will be back at the cottage to wrap up August before we start up our travel plans for September.
WE are adjusting well to Dh's retirement (fingers crossed). He who must obey is behaving so far;-)
Othere than that all is well in Hammock country,
I hope this finds all of you well as well,
the hammock queen
BB here, checking in from Georgia. I've been trying to get some things done around my house (clean out the garage, laundry room) the past few weeks and I am finally making some headway. My high school reunion is coming up soon and I've also been working hard on that (I'm on the organizing committee). My *BIG DEAL* for the end of summer is my hip replacement surgery coming up in September. Not looking forward to having surgery, but I AM looking forward to getting my "normal" life back.
I guess that's all from here.
Crap, I forgot I can't do ALT anything here or I lose my whole post.......GRRRRR
What I tried to say is that now that it is maybe going to cool off I can just sit on the deck where in 105 temps.....I just couldn't. As I get older I can handle the heat a little better but that is just more than I can handle and don't give me any of that AZ stuff......humid or not 105 is just plain hot.....
I think we are going to have to plan on at least 2 maybe 3 fish frys this fall, our little freezer is jam packed and we still have a couple months of fishing left.....we have given fish away and everything but Del just keeps getting more. I told him he could be a pro fisherman and catch and release but he don't think that is right...lolWhat are you going to do with him?
I know when we have a fry for the firemen I will have to make an extra big batch of mushrooms last year they ate those like they were going out of style..
We haven't been home enough to use water to see how much we are going to use with our new meters.... But nobody in town uses as much as they are getting charged for.....
It is really hard after so many years of free water to have to pay for every gallon.....I know I wasted tons of it myself by letting sprinklers run 24/7 for days. We used to pay a flat rate and those days are gone.....so unless you use less you are going to get a big bill......but the complaints are awful........
Now what I think is awful is I can set out as many garbage bags of trash as I want and I pay the same as the old lady down the street that barely gets a little Walmart bag full every week.....now that is not fair... They tried recycling here years ago and to put paper, cans and glass into it's own bin is doable but to bundle the papers and not putting in slick paper, removing lables, taking off top and bottoms off cans AND washing them, removing lables from bottles and washing them is not going to happen in this house.
Just waiting for it to cool off I get cranky in the heat......lol
But the Olympics are good..
