I used to drink a ton of coffee, but then Mr. Coffee came out and from then on the coffee just didn't taste the same... granted, part of it might be me, part might even be the coffee itself, but mostly I think it is running hot water through the grounds don't give it enough coffee flavor and I feel like I am wasting coffee...

No, I am not going to do like my aunt used to do and that is to perk a pot then when she was ready to make another she would add 1 spoon of coffee and reuse what was in there....but then she was so tight with money she would probably have run it through 3 times or more...lol

My DMIL had an electric stove and she would put the coffee on in the morning and as soon as it started to perk she would turn off the burner and I kid you not that coffee smelled so good you would get up on a cold winter morning just to get some......I don't smell that with the new coffee pots....

Del, on the other hand is the only one that drinks it now and he will turn the pot off (sometimes) and reheat it the next morning if he didn't drink it all the day before......that is just nasty....to me that coffee smells like old grease rags.....lol

Yes I could dig out the old perker but he don't really taste that much anymore so he don't care...lol.....I started drinking International brands French Vanilla Cafe', now Maxwellhouse brand.....several years ago....I drink 1 sometimes 2 a day...and plain coffee it was nothing for me to drink 5-6 a day...

But I also think that the main thing with coffee is people don't put in enough coffee to get any taste out..

To heck with coffee, give me those cookies! They sound wonderful, and what a nice variety you've made, Jacquie. I've yet to meet a cookie I didn't LOVE!

I sure hope the studies re: coffee drinking being good for one are correct, because the new pot makes it taste so good I'll be drinking more.

I read about your dual coffeemaker on Facebook. It's perfect! My DH doesn't drink coffee at all, so I still have the single cup maker. I'm not crazy about it, but since I only have one cup in the morning, it gets the job done.
Enjoy your squealing girls!
