I have to laugh whenever I think of those people that tell me how bad diet soda is for me when they are drinking Snapple or orange juice...

Yes I am waiting for the day when they tell us that it wasn't fried and chocolate that made us fat it was veggies.......LOL

I actually have 3 of those books. The originial, also the one for eating out, and the one for cooking. Interesting to look at and consider.
About your question, I think every person has a different metabolism therefore, sugar affects everyone differently. I have tried to keep my weight down by avoiding sugars and carbs because everyone in my family has (or had) diabetes but me. I know it is just "lurking" there to pounce on me if I'm not careful Thus, I just keep excercising. Carbs are my downfall. So are diet sodas, but I limit myself to just a couple a week. We'll see what happens!
