Giving it another try

I don't know if I have talked about this here or not but Del got me a George Foreman grill some years ago. It has a bun warmer on top which I have never used. It only has one temp. and I have made many chicken breast pucks and other things that were not able to be eaten. I guess I am not a multi-tasking cook or something. To me it was sort of like being on Food Networks Chopped and I have to make a whole meal in 10 min. Anyway that is not the only reason.

OOOOh it is soo easy to clean I have heard so many times, just wipe it with a damp paper towel. So I tried that, I used a lot of paper towel, but when I plugged it in the next time the smell was enough to make me hurl.....awful.....and besides that drip tray would get bumped and I would have grease but it would run under the machine so the bottom of it was like the bottom of a frying pan.....so, I am no germaphobe but I do like things clean. I started taking it to the sink and washine it was a brush and dish soap turning it over and scrubbing the bottom I would rince it with the sprayer and let it hang on the divider between the sinks to dry.....in hopes that it would fill up with water and go POOF!!!!! the next time I plugged it in.....no such luck.

With the 2 of us I hate to dirty up the stove for a little thing......

I just ordered the GF grill with the interchangable surfaces such as a grill griddle, waffle maker, a deeper one that you can bake pizza in and one that has cups so you could make pizza cups or whate ever. It is temp. controlled.

Anyone have this? Do you like it?

I just thought that at least here at the camper I could step outside and cook breakfast or heat something up that needed more than the microwave........more on this later..

I have one and I love it. The one I hav3 is nonstick so it easy to clean. I make steak with scalloped potatoes, brownies, cupcakes, bacon, waffles, pretty much anything I want. Its the best gift I ever got. My fiance bought it for me for valentine's day. I love the fact I can make whole meals in it and not have to use a drive.

Thanks for the input. My old one is non stick also but just cleaning with a damp paper towel is not enough...I probably won't put the plates in the dishwasher but it does have to be better than the old one....and to set the temp will be a good thing also....

Janet, I have a GF grill only and I love it.  You do have to make sure the drip pan stays in place.  If you have problems try a little double stick tape.  I wash mine grill off with soapy water and don't have a problem.  You do have to make sure you get into the corners or along the grill strips.

I'll have to look into the newer version if I ever have a place of my own again.

Good luck,

K
