Sherri, here is what happens and I figured this out all by myself.....
We would clear out stuff and take it to the thrift shop, then in the summer we were out of the house for 5 or so months and all that stuff found it's way back in....so the next year you dump some more and then leave and it get's back in somehow.......

I had a similar day. Had a few things on my to do list that just couldn't put off any longer.
I agree...January flew by...as did Oct., Nov., and Dec.!!
Must be something in the air, because I've been decluttering also.
