Have you seen the exlusive iVillage 50 Best to Worst States for Women? Each state's ranking was based on six criteria: health, economy, affordable childcare, female representation, education, and reproductive rights.
Where does your state rank on the list? Do you think it is an accurate assessment?
Hi, Kt.
I visit a bunch of boards here at iVillage. I've been here since 2001. I've been through two format changes here. First was when we dropped the one line format (oh how I loved doing the pretty designs on the subjects! My favorite was always the ~^~^~ type ones!). Now this one. I have no problems getting on here. I did when using IE9, but thankfully when I asked for help Firefox was recommended. I'm flying now! Have you tried any of those? I did some reading up on them after and found that IE is slower than all the other browsers out there.
I appreciate the articles, but even if the topics annoyed me, I wouldn't take it out on a moderator. It might not be obvious, but I read the response as unnecessarily harsh. Just from a new to the board perspective since I saw this listed as an active post and clicked thru.
Thanks for the welcome. I hope to post more. Today is grandkid day though. Outside in the fresh air.

Hi Karla! =)
I'm in Minnesota and we're ranked #8. I'd say it's a fair assessment. I definitely agree with child care being super expensive. Though I'm out of that stage, it was expensive years ago and it seems to keep rising, which is understandable, but when the economy is what it is, the cost of child care makes it easier to just stay home rather than work to pay it.
I like to see how sites like iVillage rate various aspects of life.

To be quite honest, Karla, I don't much care how the iVillage staff rates anything!!

My browser isn't the problem.
Hi TJ,
I'm sorry you're having difficulties and I've passed your comments on. I've personally found that the browser I use can make a remarkable difference. If you'd like to private message or e-mail me (allhealthcm@mail.ivillage.com) I would be happy to try to help you.
