Well, I'm still here. Its been a while since I have posted anything and since then my hubby has gotten me a new computer and I don't have to deal with all the problems with the last one. I'm still kicking, have my good day's and bad, but then that is everyone isnt it. My hubby is out of the wheel chair again. He had West niles Virus last year and they said he would never walk again but he proved them wrong agin . that's twice. Right now we are dealing with the rain here in Fl. So far we have gotten up to 35 inches  and expect another 8 or more in the next 2 day's. We are having a lot of flooding as you can imagine. they have called off all the 4th of July celebrations except one tonight. Cant understand how they expect people to come out to see the fire works much less the fire works them selves staying lit and going off.  Well I hope everyone has a nice weekend and enjoy yourselves. Be careful out there, ellie-mite

Good to see you again, Sassy.  It has not been easy of late to post here in our little Friendship Garden, but I am so glad to see that at least a few of our 'old timers' are still trying.  I wondered if you were in the midst of that rain belt that has been circling FL for a while.  Glad to hear that your DH beat the verdict - yet again!!  He's a strong willed guy, for sure!

MI just last year passed a law giving the "idiots" the right to buy and use mid-range fireworks.  Grrrrrr....  Fortunately our little town has outlawed their use any time other than the day before, the day of, and the day after certain major holidays.  Unfortunately my purrbabies have been freaked out by the loud bangs and booms in our neighborhood these past couple of days. I think it is the vibration it sets up within the ground and felt up thru the footings for the house that scares them the most.

I had planned to go into town for the Fouth of July Parade last evening but could not bare to leave the purrbabies home alone with them being so scared.  So I sat in the living room with one on my lap and the other glued to my side and watched New York's fireworks on TV!!!  Hey, at least I didn't have to contend with the mosquitoes!!!!  LOL

Hope to see you more often now....

Hi Sassy, yes, it's good to see you here.  Sounds like your husband has had a rough time of it.  My husband has been fighting a health problem, too.  It has been a rough year for us, but we are hanging on...hope your year gets better!

So glad to here from both of you. I can not believe that these fools here actually set the fire works off last night and tonight in the hardest down pouring of rain we have been having. What a waste. Who in their  right mind would go out to watch them when it is this nasty and dangerous and the police are telling you to stay off the roads unless you have to , like its an emergency to be out on the roads. They have had a lot of people try to cross roads flooded with water and end up getting stuck and having to be rescured. The paramedics are even having trouble getting to the calls coming into 911. I guess some one should get the heads of each of the little towns in a sit down meeting and explain what stay off the roads means to these people. My poor puppy dog didn't know which way to run when they started setting them off. at least they were at a distance this time. Last year some fools  here on the the street where we live sat some off and we thought we were being bombed. The windows shook and the outside lighted up like a fire rocket had landed. That is a bit too much for me and all the while they stand out there laughing. At least it wasnt dry like last year and they were saying no one was even suppose to be even having those little sparklers lit. But I guess there has to be some one in every crowd that has to break the rules. I'm so glad to hear from you two. I hope to be back in here more often. ellie-mite
