All summer I have noticed that my internet connection was off and on most of the time it would be not more than a few seconds or so.

Saturday morning I had like no activity at all. I went into town and they gave me a new modem, same kind but a new one. It didn't work any they sent a guy out. He couldn't figure it out but he said the same thing had been happening around but mostly on HP computers....

Sunday that guy and another guy came out and he said that what they THINK  is happening between the firewall on the modem and the one with my anti virus there was  conflict...they put on a different brand of modem with a different kind of firewall(?) and everything is a go again....the  best part is that it is a LOT I am not complaining at all.

But they did say too that with the heat this summer that there were other things going on with electonics that normally don't is fixed and that is all I care about.....

So.  The techs didn't know what they were talking about and they are using inferior products that are affected by the heat?

Is the heat outside or don't you have AC and the heat is inside?    It has been hot here and we've had no problem.

If you don't get results the first time ask for a manager when you call the second.

I'm glad things are working fine now.

I suppose the heat could affect it. I think the anti-virus was probably it , though. I have had that problem too...fighting between the modem and the anii-virus....break it up
