The onions I have been buying in the store have been very tough....I know it is because they are old but what are you to do?

So when we ran hom a couple weeks ago I went to the people that sell fresh stuff and bought a bunch of onions...you CAN tell the difference.....

So anyway that left me with about 18-20 onions some rather large....so I thought I would do something...I cut up about 10 of them and put them in my electric pot and started to carmalize them......hense the crying....

I even went outside and sat a while but it isn't going away that fast in here....lol

I think I will make some sweetened and some we can have with our mushrooms and gizzards tonight.....

A lady here at the campground makes gizzards in the slow cooker and they get very soft and I just can't eat them that way I like a little chew left in them.......Granted everyone else like them soft so I will make my own......I know it won't bother Del.....and he is one of those that like them her way.....but I bet he will eat mine too......lol

That makes me think of Onion Soup.
There was once a place in Tulsa which was known for their delicious Onion Soup.
Sure wish I had their recipe.

I use them when they are in season.

At home I also make French onion soup.
