Question for those who wear glasses
| Fri, 09-14-2012 - 11:27am |
I have switched eye doctors and thought it very strange that my eye exam was done with my eye glasses ON. I have never had that done before. So, do you have your eye lasses on or off during your eye exam? Just curious....

I've never had my eyes examined while wearing glasses. Were your eyes dilated? Did you ask why?
That's just strange. Please let us know if you find out the reason.

If you wear glasses you probably can't see very well without glasses....right? That is why they test with your glasses on....
But when it comes to finding out what strength your new glasses need to be they use that thing with all the numbers on it........you know .....can you see better here? or is this better after they change a lens and you say maybe you can see better with the second one.......that has always been done without my glasses because I wouldn't be able to get close enough to the machine with them on.....
But they do check the eye chart with my glasses on and then I have to cover one eye and then the other.....
Don't think I've ever had my eyes examined while wearing my old glasses. Maybe they have me read the chart (if I can!) while wearing my old ones, but nothing else.
I'm getting new glasses sometime soon (day or two, I think!). I saw the optometrist last Saturday and when I got back into my car to drive home the frames on the glasses I had on snapped in two!! Fortunately I had another pair (older ones!) in the car so I could see to drive home!
