I went to buy some deodorant yesterday.  It seems like overnight there has been an influx of fragrances.  You can get Lavender, Vanilla, Spring Rain, Cucumber, and the list goes on and on.  I did manage to find some clear, thankfully.  When I got to the check out I mentioned to the clerk that number of different fragrances in deodorant.  She agreed.  So I asked, "I haven't see it yet, but do people go around now smelling armpits?"

What happened to just Clean?

I hope I brought you a smile today.

karen,

i have seen a lot of fragrances too. however, i have sensitive skin and can't wear any with a smell to them. it's getting increasingly harder to find those that don't have a scent.

I once was sitting next to a woman in church who had on so much perfume that with my mouth closed my tongue burned. I think people don't realize that a small bit of perfume is to be pleasing to a person next to you and your nose gets accustomed to it so you can't smell it. Loved the Peanuts joke.

LOL    Every time I pass by someone that reeks of perfume I think of a 'Peanuts' cartoon I saw a long time ago.  Peanuts made the comment, "that lady has on so much perfume, if she stood still she puddle"

I think too that elderly women sometimes begin to lose their sense of smell and spritz themselves over much because they can't smell it!!

Maybe it is the women that use smelly deo., perfume and soap that make my nose plug up.....then too you have to add their hair spray and lotions......you can smell kind of bad at the end of that.....The other day there were 2 women standing outside Walmart and the wind was blowing.....I got out of the car and started walking toward the building and I told Del that someone really was smelling strong and sure enough we got to the door and WOW one of those ladies soaked in something very strong.... you really could smell it at least 15 cars away........that is to much....

Every time I find an unscented product (or lightly scented one) that I like it soon is gone from the shelves.  And those of us who react badly to strong scents are now assailed from yet another scented product!!!  Arghhhhh........
