Selecting Christmas gifts

Have you finished your Christmas shopping? Do you take the time to really come up with something personal for the people on your list or do you give general gifts that almost any one would enjoy?

I feel like the art of gift giving has become nearly extinct these days.

Brenda, I am a firm believer that the gift *must* fit the person to whom it is given.  On those rare occassions when I simply cannot find something that I feel really fits I will buy a little something I know they would like and include a gift certificate to a store at which I know they like to shop.  Even when my money has been more than tight I have shopped for the individual.

I refuse to buy toys for kids as I honestly believe that most families over-do in that department -- the exception being what I give to Toys for Tots.  And I will NOT buy electronic toys even for adult kids!!

When my kids were little and my money on the short side they each got one toy they really wanted, clothes they needed, and if there was money left over they got some silly little thing too or something practicle.

Guess I am a bit of an old fogie, but I iz what I iz!!!
