I noticed a couple of people on here mention they don't do Facebook and I am so happy to see that. I was beginning to think I was the only person on the planet not "connected". I had an account but was absolutely horrified at all the information people were sharing. I just can't help but think we would all be better off knowing far less about our family and friends than we now have access too.

It depends on what people share.  I don't have any friends who post inappropriate things.  I enjoy keeping up with what is going on with people I wouldn't see that much, like old friend from high school who are all over--I can find out when they have grandchildren, when their kids get married, etc.  I have a friend in a diff. state who just had a baby & I enjoy seeing the baby pics.

I have a 'private' room on FaceBook that I visit (infrequently) but there are a lot of our ladybugs who are posting there so I try to keep up at least a bit with them.   I simply do not like the format at FaceBook.  Nor do I like the fact that FB blatantly uses any picture a person is dumb enough to post there for their own purposes....it is written into their 'privacy policy' that they can and will do just that.

I aslo hate that my 'news feed' is inundated by tons of worthless junk that some people feel they 'must share'!  And I hate the cryptic messages that so many think are cute to post.....stuff like "Today sucks".....no explanation or hint as to what is going on!    Grrrrr!!!!

I do not think that everyone who uses FB is dumb for doing so.  I just don't care for it!

I don't use it often but the annoying game requests and advertisments in the middle of my news feed drives me crazy.

I saw a rather embarrassing fight between a husband and wife I know on there a few months ago so I do understand what you are talking about. It was so ugly that the local police visited the wife at work the next day for a well check because someone reported it to them. I still don't understand why the wife didn't delete everything from the first post and keep it off the web but I guess to each his/her own.

I've heard several times of Facebook being hacked into (what is really safe?) and the government looking at stuff so I don't want to be a part of it.

I think people think of this as an online diary.  It isn't.
