I recently joined our local VFW Women's Auxillary (my older brother was a member in that VFW post so they would accept me). This afternoon I am joining in with a few other VFW members and going to Battlecreek to the VFW hospital to cook and serve a salmon dinner for the vets there.

Well they predict snow and highs of 36 tomorrow so we will probably just stay in I am sure there will be a FB game for Del to watch.....since I am sure he is going to be very sore and tired because TADAAAAA he got the trees down....It was going to cost $400 a tree to have someone come in and take them down..that would be$1200 but if we fixed everthing that should be fixed after today I am sure it would be closer to $8000. He can do it he feels like it and just because he is 71 and has a pacemaker don't mean nothing..... like he is strong like bull........then whine to me for a couple of days.......what am I supposed to do?

A friend brought in his boom truck and there were 3 other guys here but the gutter on the garage now has a pour spout and one of the logs hit the roof and some branches so I know we will need new shingles.. and the yard remember I said we were going to wait till the ground freezes because the ground around here is very sandy and needs to be frozen to drive on the lawn?
Well what the H........let's drive on it anyway it looks like ........well you know......

He sawed, and pulled on a rope to get the trees to fall as far away from things as he could ......not far enough.......and he raked....anyway I don't want to here about how tired he is or how his back hurts because if someone comes and wants him to do something for them he will be right there......so I have to keep my complaints to myself......lol

Men.......

BTW is that makeover show the one with Ty Pennington? I quit watching that after one time, one of the first shows. They had a family that were on assistance of some kind and they got this huge new house......and becase of what happened her one time it kind of didn't seem right to me. We had a lady that signed up for a car at a local store and she was on welfare..... she won and they were not going to let her have the car because she couldn't pay the taxes....... Even if she didn't drive it she had to pay those taxes.......so someone came up with the money for the taxes and then they wanted to stop her checks it was a big mess......I saw where these people could get this brand new house and then couldn't pay the taxes and would be no better off maybe worse than they were before.......I might be wrong.....or how about building that fancy house in the middle of the worst place .....I just don't know.......to much to think about so I quit watching.......lol

This house was for a lady who runs a soup kitchen from her house. They gave her a pretty modest house, but it had kitchen that a lot of space and room for storage.
I think this year the show has been more dedicated to helping those who in turn hwlp out the community.

Actually, his part landed on the cutting room floor. He is probably just as happy, since the scene included his ex-girlfriend. He was dreading the teasing he would get. :)
