What are you thinking of the start of Season 4?

There was plenty of back stabbing and underhanded behavior among the servants. And I'm not sure why Rose was so happy to get involved with finding a new lady's maid. She doesn't seem particularly altruistic, was it just to score points with Cora? Speaking of Cora, does she seem more clueless and easily manipulated this season? I was surprised that she believed Edna (who she barely knows) when she blamed Anna, who has worked for her for years, for damaging that fabric.
I couldn't believe she actually trusts Thomas. It's not like he is new. They all fully know how devious he is.
I was glad to see Mary snap out of it. I hope she takes more interest in baby George.
I just found this series and am loving it. I don't care if it is a spoiler or not; someone please tell me if Bates ever gets out of prison.
Never have watched it, Karla....and probably will not. But - for those of you who are fans here is something you might find fun: Which Downtown Abby character are you? Just out of curiosity I took the 'test' and was told I am Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham played by Maggie Smith. I have no clue what Violet Crawley is like, but I do like Maggie Smith, so I won't be insulted, I guess!!!

You are loved ~~ far more than you may ever know!
Brenda, yes he does get out of prison. What I won't spoil for you is HOW he gets out. One of the things I enjoy about D.A. is when they explore the "other life" of the servants.
LOL KT! I really like the Countess's personality. She adds a lot of spice to the family and I think she has more real sense than her son!
I am so angry over what happened to Anna. I know it wasn't done at that time period but Anna should have run out of the room screaming rape so they could have caught and dealt with the rapist right and there.
Since they are trying to be historically accurate she couldn't do much about it. She seemed too traumatized to have run anywhere right after the attack (and she wasn't able to fight him off to prevent the attack). And like she said, she was afraid of what Bates would do, and end up in prison again. But even without the part about Mr Bates, if she had let it be known what had happened she would have been stigmatized and possibly lost her job. Blame the victim. It actually was fairly common for women in service to get raped or coerced into sex, especially by the men "abovestairs". They knew that the women usually would not tell because it reflected poorly on the woman (even though it was not her fault), most people would believe the employer/wealthy person over a servant, and if it became public knowledge the servant wouldn't be able to get another job.
Anyway, they needed the guy to not be caught for the sake of the story arc. I suspect that Mr Bates will catch up with him somehow somewhere....I hope that its during this season!
I haven't had time to watch any episodes since Anna's rape but hope to catch up this weekend. I absolutely love this show.
