How often do you change your handbag?

I guess I should first ask if you carry a handbag and how often you change it. Do you have a selection that you go back and forth from or do you buy a new one every so often?

I bought my first real leather bag last fall and I am really disappointed with it. It was very expensive and looked so nice but once I got to carrying it, I realized it was really heavy and not comfortable on my shoulder. I am not sure I will ever get leather again.

I learned that lesson a long time ago, Brensticker!!!  Leather handbags (and coats) are heavy!!!!

I keep about 6 handbags that I alternate use of.  And if I see one that really catches my eye I will buy it - assuming it does not cost more than $25!!  I love a purse with lots of pockets and compartments in it.  I do NOT like the great big ones but not the wee tiny ones either!  And I much prefer the kind that has a shoulder strap to the clutch or small handle kind.

I own a lot of purses but tend to carry the same one day after day until it starts looking ratty; but occasionally I change it depending on the event. Right now I'm carrying a largish leather bag, I've been using it for about 2 years. It has some metal hardware and is pretty heavy but its very sturdy and spacious inside. I have a smaller leather bag with an adjustable strap (goes from cross body length to short handle length) that I use sometimes, mainly for travel---it is a finer leather and light, and also doesn't hold very much. I used to use cloth bags in some kind of microfiber, they were pretty light, but I haven't seen them in the stores anymore. I also have a few small evening type bags for special occasions.

I have far too many purses that I don't change out enough!  I tend to like the crossbody handbags for the comfort factor, but I also llike larger bags that my DSLR camera will fit into.  I find that weight is a HUGE factor for me, as my shoulders hurt.  You are reminding me that I need to change them out as a style point, but I get "stuck" with the same ol' bag for months before something catches my eye, and I switch.  :P

I made the very same mistake with an expensive leather bag and I will never buy another one. I like those cloth Vera Bradley bags. I had a friend try one out and hers was so cute I bought one. Now I am hooked on them for everyday use.

I like to change mine up, my wallet to...just bought myself a new purse and I love it. So hard finding something light-weight and roomy with good handles. Not too big either...My new one is a burgundy wine with beige and it like there are stripes.
