Click here to find out why

I have a 13 year old son who is a sports addict and I have a hard time finding role models in the sports area.

That's really great that he did that! Wow! I hope that he and other athletes as well as actors who have prioritized their education will be an inspiration to young athletes, their parents and coaches to also think about the long term, But it isn't only about preparing the future after they've stopped being a professional athlete. It's about opening one's mind and world, and opening oneself to other opportunities, too in order to become a well-rounded person inside and out, physically and intellectually, too.

Right now I am learning about financial literacy. There's a whole universe worth of knowledge that I don't have, but I've decided to take a first step for my own good and my own future.

Sadly, a lot of people are very good at missing opportunities to expand their minds and worlds. My mother and I were talking about a lady whose husband was posted in a couple of very interesting places. What did she get out of postings? Nothing. She only saw the bad and the inconvenient.

Oh, I'm sitting here thinking about all of the history that she could have absorbed.
