How do you keep cool and comfortable in the heat?

Pool and A/C...

When we moved into this house, we bought a used pool...22', delivered and installed for under $1000 by the seller. It was great, but it was used, and lasted 10 years. (what a sight it was when it collapsed, like a tsunami)

Not to be undone, I applied for and got a WalMart credit card and promptly bought a 20' frame set pool. It is smaller, yes, and not as deep, but it's still wonderful, paid for with no interest if done within a certain time period. I stay under a big umbrella and go in when I start to overheat.

I've lived in FL with no pool and I know it stinks.

Its not bad...I do it all myself, vacuum once or twice a week. I don't live near any water thats swimmable. The Hudson River? No...

There are some *swimming holes* but they are packed with teenagers and tourists.

I use the local city pool when we can get there.

Stay inside during from noon to about 4 or 5, or go to places that are air-conditioned.

I deal badly with heat waves. They trigger nasty migraines, and I have to have a couple of ice packs on my head and neck.

I'm sorry to hear that.
