Do you have plans to celebrate Thanksgiving? Do you usually have a traditional turkey dinner or do something else?

I'm going to my sister's house this year for a real change.  She's worried that she will cook something that I can't eat.  I told her not to worry about it, cause if I do, I just won't tell her about it.  Since most of the foods for Thanksgiving fall into the comfort food catagory I should be fine with the mashed potatoes and turkey, and so on.  I'm really looking forward to this because in some ways I am so tired of dealing with what I can eat and what I cannot!

On a very pleasant note I made cranberry nut bread with C&H stevia blend which cut the sugar in half, so it almost became a diabetic acceptable item.  Made my house smell wonderful and tastes great.  If anyone is interested in how I changed the recipe I'm willing to share.

We are taking my mother and going to a restaurant to eat Thanksgiving dinner there. To fix a big meal, the clean up afterward and becoming very tired just doesn't "fit the bill" any longer. Its nice to let someone else do the work. :)

My two adult kids and I are going to be with a family we have "adopted" for the past few years.  We will have all of the traditional items (turkey, dressing, potatoes, etc.) plus ham.  Each of us going takes a couple of items (I take a corn soufflé and a sweet potato casserole) so that no one person is forced to cook for the whole bunch.  There will be about a dozen of us. We gather around 4:00 pm and usually head for home around 8:00 or 9:00.  We get together with the same family for Christmas and will draw names on Thursday for the person we  will shop for for Christmas!
