Saying it is "a stark wake-up call to everyone involved in college sports," the NCAA announced a $60 million fine against Penn State University on Monday and took away 14 seasons of football victories from the late Joe Paterno.

The school's football team was also banned from the postseason for four years and will lose 20 football scholarships a year for four seasons, NCAA President Mark Emmert said.

I'm not happy with it either.  But at least, this has the football players looking for new schools.  So at least they will be hurting because they basically no longer have a team with all of the good players leaving.

No. In my opinion the verdict was not okay. They should have been forced to disassemble the football program at Penn State. Many people's lives were ruined. Penn State should have been made the example to ALL sports programs that this kind of thing will not be tolerated.

I think this was just another slap on the hand.
