Does anyone have any exciting summer vacation plans? Is this your "usual" vacation destination or somewhere new this year?

No major vacation plans here. When I'm not working from home, I've had to travel out of town for work. While I'd sometimes prefer to be staying in an air conditioned hotel room rather than my rather warm house during the summer, I know I would miss my dogs :)

I don't think I could live without air conditioning. I live in a part of the country that does have warm summers so I would be miserable without it.

We typically go to the beach during the summer but this year we are waiting for grandbabies to be born so we are going to staycation.

No real vacation for us this year. We are planning to go camping once or twice, but that's about it. :)

We don't really have anything planned for this summer but we are taking a cruise to the Holy Land in early November. Now that my husband is retired we seen to have a hard time planning anything other than day trips! I keep explaining to him that we don't need to wait until the weekend to do anything. Abby (the cat) has been ill but that is an on-going issue and he keeps saying that we can't leave poor Abby because she would miss us, etc! Now I do have a pet sitter so Abby isn't negelected. It is harder though because she has to be fed twice per day and she needs to be given oral medication.

Sounds exciting about new grand babies coming! When and what are you expecting or do you know yet?

A cruise sounds exciting Mary Frances, but with all the recent cruise ship disasters, I think I would be a little nervous. lol

My daughter is expecting a baby boy July 5 and my daughter-in-law is expecting a baby girl August 1. We were going to try to squeeze a few days at the beach in between due dates but decided we had better just wait until next year.

So you will have two girls and a boy! How is your oldest grandaughter doing? I hope she has caught up with everyone else her age.

Hi Mary Frances,

My oldest granddaughter has physical challenges. She talks very well, can crawl and stand up on her own, but it may be a while before she is walking independently. (It's hard to believe that she is a toddler already (2.5) and going to be a big sister!) She is still really small compared to other children her age, but her mother is really small, so her size may not be from being premature.

Thank you for asking about her!
