It has been a 1 1/2 yrs since I left a 6 yr relationship. I am now at  the  point where I would like to date. I did meet someone at a friends party, who has  been single for  4 yrs.  In  talking we have quite a bit in common. She lives 45 minutes from where I  live. So any how   she    asked me to her summer evening gathering next Saturday which I will go as it will give me the opportunity to meet new people. At what  point is good to ask her if she is interested in a date, dinner, coffee??? It has been 6 yrs out of the dating world, don't know what the rules are anymore.   Advice please! thanks!

Well I am sort of new to the community but I say whenever you feel like it!

I always joke with my GF that I would have no problem dating if we broke up but I am pretty assertive. Just ask her out!!

I hate that point of dating. It is so awkward. No advice but good luck.

thanks, I agree it is awkward, I relate the whole dating process like interviewing for a job or trying on a pair of shoes. You have find to the right fit and keep searching until you find the right match.
