Does anyone cook? I mean really cook like old fashioned homemade meals? My mother wasn't a cook and I'm not a cook but I'd like to learn to put together a nice meal every once in a while.

What a great idea. I hadn't thought about cooking ahead. Do you make some kind of menu and do you do all the shopping at one time? I think it would help me save money if I wasn't running to the store every single day for something.

I have a stocked pantry, check that once a month. Friday create the menu, then purchase items needed from the farmers market and natural food store, I only buy on the list. I try to bake muffins, cookies, brownies. I individually wrap these. I save alot of money as a single person. Most meals I can get at least 2/3 additional, so if i made chili i can with rice at one meal, next meal i make a wrap with cheese. I average about 125.00 a month on groceries having stock pantry of flours, vanilla (make this your self a large bottle of vodka add 1-2 vanilla beans let sit for 6 months) you will have the best vanilla, spices/herbs, rice, etc. I don't use process or fried foods. Everything organic. Any other questions, let me know:) oh, i post the menu on my fridge, make my lunches the night before.
