According to recent Health Day News, more trusting relationships form between straight women and gay men. "Honest and unbiased relationship advice is a major reason why straight women and gay men often form close bonds, according to a new study.

"Friendships between straight women and gay men are free of hidden mating agendas," lead author Eric Russell, a visiting psychology researcher at the University of Texas at Austin, said in a university news release. "They may be able to develop a deeper level of honesty because their relationship isn't complicated by sexual attraction or mating competition." MORE

What do you think?

I absolutely believe this to be true. I know many women with gay men friendships and they are very close and happy. It's like having the best of both worlds without have the worry of sex.

I think it's reaching. Gay men may try to think like women but they have been conditioned and raised to think like men. They are not women and don't understand how women think despite their best efforts. A woman to woman friendship is always going to be a closer bond than a woman to gay man.

I have 2 friends from high school who are a gay man/straight woman and they are still best friends 35 yrs later--oh and they are both married, so I definitely think it can happen.  I also think that gay men do understand very much how women think and think much more like women than typical straight men.
