Have you tried any veggie burgers? Are there any you would recommend or not recommend? Why?

I've never tried veggie burgers. If anyone has a recipe to make them from scratch I'd love to try it!

I like the MorningStar Farms Black Bean burgers...

I have not tried them and don't really want to. I don't have a specific reason--I can just be funny about trying new things and they don't sound very appetizing.

I've tried several different ones, Boca, Morning Star, Amy's and Garden Burgers, but I'm finding I like the ones I've been making from scratch alot better and less expensive.

I've had quorn as a ground meat substitute in things like spaghetti bolognese when we lived in England had had a couple of vegetarian freinds. But never had a pure veggie burger patty.

Rose, I am looking forward to the recipes. How did the brown rice and lentil burger turn out?

Thanks, Rose! I am going to try both recipes soon. For the brown rice and lentil recipe maybe you can just add a binder of some kind?

I live in Asia and walnuts and almonds are fairly expensive. I think what I'll do is try your recipe, then experiment with substitutes for the walnuts and almond to make it a more feasible recipe for me!

Thanks again!

Hope you enjoy these. Nuts aren't necessary, I just put them in because I had them on hand and I like the taste of nuts in burgers. I bought some egg replacer thats made with soy flour, so I might try using that along with the bread crumbs.

I've tried Boca Burgers and did not care for them. They just tasted "off". Not something I would choose again.
