Any healthcare suprises yet?

Has anyone gotten any kind of healthcare surprise yet that they weren't expecting? So far everything seems to be going great with my healthcare. I hope everyone else is having a good experience.

So far so good. My husband and I have a little better plan than we have had in the past so I can't complain. We are, however, paying much more for it. Thank God we can afford this. I don't know how other people are affording their "affordable" healthcare.

I learned that I am POST menopausal, so I am done with my period,  HOORAY!  On the downside, it made me realize that I need to be on HRT, so I am trying that, and after only two short weeks, I am feeling the "zing" back in my step.  Yay!  My blood pressure was on the rise, too, but I changed my diet, and that has made all of the difference.  Now, I am working on my sugars and cholesterol.  Although I am not on meds for that, I will be soon, if they continue to be on the rise.  :P  "Getting old is not for wimps!"

well I am 59 and female and dont fit into any regular categories......................A bit of background.. I have no medical insurance and I go to a clinic for some care and pay according to income.. Now I did apply for some insurance but since I have savings that I live on my deductible will be like 2,000.........I cant afford that................. I am stuck in middle.. too much savings for state aid but cant shell out all of this money...................... I might just pay out of pocket for a good doctor........... if there is anything wrong I will try and cure myself with natural things which I take now anyway..............................forget the meds.. I am on hbp meds and since they dont work I have to add five other of my own natural things which work so much better. Sorry I fell for the kool aide...

Anyway; Any suggestions would be nice...

I am old enuf to be on Medicare but of course I had to have a supplement to help cover medical bills.  I have had to pay for that for the past few years.  Starting this year it cost me far less and the coverage is better.  My DS has worked part time for a school system for years and has had to do without medical insurance at all.  He can now (with the allowed subsidies) afford to have medical insurance.  We are both, needless-to-say, pleased with what is being offered!!
