Dad uses Facebook to teach daughter a lesson

Wow oh Wow. A dad gets angry at his daughter for something she wrote on Facebook about her parents and he replies back. Check out this video of Dad and the Facebook Lesson
Was it too harsh or do more parents need to take a lesson from this dad's parenting book?
I totally would have posted something back to her like he did. I might have skipped the last part, but the rest was great!

I have been watching this page for a while now and it's getting thousands of comments per hour. It is fascinating.
As the parent of teens I can tell you we have had a few unpleasant moments over Facebook in our home (nothing like this-thankfully) so I can understand this Dad's frustration. For those who have teens on there, do you monitor their posts? Have you ever been in an argument over something?

He fired a gun in a residential area, very close to a busy road.
I love it! But have you seen now how some of the child experts are slamming this dad and the parents who are ok with the video?

One quote in particular really hacked me off. Monica Vila, whom the article says runs an online forum for parents struggling to deal with technology and teen issues says, she was shocked to see other parents applauding him.
"I do see the frustration parents feel," she said. "But the applause of other parents saying, 'Yay,' comes from their unwillingness to jump in and be parents in the platform that their kids are playing in."
Um...excuse me? Maybe we're more frustrated by so called experts who give our children the ammunition to feel justified in ignoring our attempts to parent in what may be considered a more normal way! So, the dad called her on her behavior... using the exact platform she did... and he (and those of us who cheered) are told we're unwilling to jump in and be parents??? Well, lady, making biscuits means you've got to get your hands in the dough... I call what he did hands-on parenting, 2012 style!
Honestly, if he'd just tossed the laptop into the garbage, I don't think all these experts would be so darn bent out of shape!
I feel like the punishment didn't really fit the crime, as they say...but brav for keeping his word!
