Housekeeping Services

I am thinking about hiring a housekeeping service to clean certain rooms of my house every other week. I was told that there would be a team of 2 that would do the actual cleaning. Although I would pay a flat rate for the service, I was wondering about tipping the women who did the cleaning - should I tip, and if so, how much should I tip each lady? Has anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks!

I have no idea Amelia! Would you do it like at a restaurant with the percentage?

I didn't know the answer so I went and googled.

Thanks, Karen! That's pretty much what I found when I googled the question earlier.

A sister-in-law used to be a housekeeper, along with a friend. They would get a tip or nice gift at Christmas, and some of the long time clients would give them something on their birthdays. It was just a nice gesture, and not something they expected.

Thanks, Jan! I just wanted to be sure I didn't have to leave a tip EACH time they came - that could really add up to the cost of hiring a service!
