How serious is being unfriended on Facebook to you? Apparently, it is a very serious matter to most people. According to Health Day News, "Many people say they would avoid real-life contact with someone who unfriended them on Facebook, a new study finds.
"People think social networks are just for fun, but ... what you do on those sites can have real-world consequences," study author Christopher Sibona said in a news release from the University of Colorado, Denver." MORE
Have you ever been unfriended? How did you feel?
I don't let it bother me. After all, I defriend people too. Too many other things to focus on in life that are upbeat and positive.
I've been unfriended but then I've never noticed until they have tried to "friend" me back. LOL Do I take it personally? No. They have the right to not appreciate my views on life just as I have the right to not appreciate theirs.
I'm the same way, Brenda! I actually have a pre-k, grammar school, middle school friend who unfriended me on FB due to our political beliefs, YET, she follows me on Pinterest. Totally ticks me off. Basically it's like I'm not good enough to be friends with, yet, you can copy whatever I think is neat on there.
I have to admit that I take being unfriended very personally. It is like a slap in the face-you share your life with someone only to have them publically declare they want no part of you. For that reason, I just don't accept friend requests from anyone I am not really close with anymore. It only takes a couple of unfriendings to really make you think hard about who you friend and don't friend.

I don't take anything on FaceBook seriously! I've been un-friended now and again, sometimes by accident and sometimes intentional. I have one relative who is all about the drama on FB and anytime someone in the family slaps at her, she un-friends the entire clan. Whatever...
I've also had friends contact me to ask why I'd un-friended them and found out FB tends to do that for me randomly. Thankfully, most people know I'm easy to talk to, so they just ask, without accusing, cause otherwise, I probably wouldn't notice.
