(((Hugs))) Cheryl! Next time walk with me! I am a slow walker, too, and I would have loved your company! But seriously, I am sorry you were left behind - not a fun experience at all. Live and learn, as they say. It is certainly no reflection on you!! Now, go do something nice for yourself and try to put this behind you.
(((( Cheryl )))), I'm sorry your 'group' was so insensitive to your needs. I walk slowly, too. Having little short legs doesn't help any. I've always had trouble keeping up with others, even when I was in great shape. Walking with dh or my brother is like running a race. I do have a couple of friends that also walk slowly, so we don't have that problem when we go somewhere together.
I would have felt like crying, too. I really think it was rather rude of them to leave you trailing behind like that. For sure if the idea ever comes up again to take a shopping trip like that, I'd decline the offer. Now, if you came to my area, where we have a huge, new shopping center with just about every kind of store you can think of, I'd be thrilled to mosey along with you!
Oh wow Cheryl, I'd be a little upset too. I think I would have said something like "hey girls-I can't walk this fast and I'm not having fun trying to keep up".
I don't think it's overly sensitive at all. In fact, I'd be a little upset over the rudeness of everyone else. It just seems so insensitive of the group not to have slowed down for you.
