Is anyone here married and have you ever taken a seperate vacation than your husband? I want to go to the beach and he wants to go to the mountains and are kids suggested that he go to the mountains iwth some friends and I go to the beach with my sisters. We have never thought of it before but it sounds interesting to us both and we are considering it. Have you ever done this? How did it work out?

I think there is always room for people to do things separately from their spouses such as a girls weekend or a guys weekend. You aren't always going to have the same interests and shouldn't be limited in being able to enjoy them just because your spouse doesn't. DH and I have never done that, we barely vacation right now at all with little ones, but have talked about it. We are hoping to do a Disney vacation in a few years with the kids, he's really not into it, but I told him he could take a day or two of the vacation and go to the indoor wind tunnels and skydiving they have there, that way we both feel like we are able to fully enjoy the vacation.

My husband goes on hunting or fishing trips with his buddies all the time without me and I love it as much as he does. As far as like vacations such as the beach or Disney or something like that, we have never done that.

I'd give it a try if I were you. It might be great fun.

We have not really done seperate vacations, but I have gone on road trips with friends. I think your kids suggestion is a good one. Have you done it yet or have you made plans? How did it work for you?
