Hi Cheryl

I love my kindle and it is easy to use. You have to sign up on Amazon to be able to by books have you done that yet. I also enjoy the free books. The more you use your kindle the more you will love it.

Not much going on here right now. The holidays are thankfully over. Christmas packed away for another year. Love getting my house back in order after the holiday. Dh took the outside lights down today. We didn't get snow here but it got pretty cold for us here which is unusual for us for about a week. We get so spoiled here when it gets cold.

Dh and I go to the gym four days a week and lately it seems we are not home very much. I am not sure where all the time goes for us. Today I actually had the entire afternoon at home and it felt good to be able to get some chores done that I had not been able to.

Starting the new year with a smile on my face and just enjoying life for now that is enough.

It was a very quiet holiday season for us. Dh's company gave them a lot of days off, so he worked on his latest project, scanning in all our old negatives and slides onto his computer, then onto CDs.

Our tree is still up, but our tradition is to leave it up intil the Epiphany. Both of our moms had birthdays on January 5, but different years, and both of us grew up leaving the decorations out until after their birthdays. We only have a small tree that I keep decorated and we store in a garbage bag, in the basement. Every year it's ready to go, just unwrap and plug it in. We do have a huge tree, but it's too big for our living room, so we don't bother with it. We also have a huge collection of antique ornaments, so I want to find ways to display them.

No Kindle here, but my library does do the free

I like the being able to try a sample of a book as well. Sometimes I am not sure I will like a book and that makes it much easier to decide. I like the free books and have found several that I have really enjoyed. It would be so cool to be able to download a book at the library for the kindle. Not happening here either but maybe some day.

Funny, how we often do things the way our moms did...

I've thought about a Kindle, but I have a few problems with it. One is sanitation. If I leave it in the bathroom, I'd have to constantly wipe it down. With a newspaper, I can just toss it. I know, way TMI. LOL

Second, last year there were a couple of books that had problems of some kind (could have been copywrite, I just can't remember) and those that had been downloaded to Kindles were magically deleted! I hate the thought of

Yes, I read in many other places. That's just the one that usually offers the most privacy. I'd be afraid of the humidity, too, especially if I wanted to read while soaking in the tub. Maybe I'd be best off sticking with large print books. LOL

Do you 'need' privacy to read?
