I have been glued to the TV coverage of the Japan disaster and it's just absolutely horrific. Is anyone else watching it? What do you think about the nuclear situation-will they get it under control or not?

Pretty scary Karla. I have been watching it. I agree the damage from the earthquake and the tsumami is just horrific. I sure hope they can get it under control but so far everything they are trying doens't seem to be working.

Omgosh Cheryl wow. I saw that all US military personnel were safe and accounted for and I thought they said the base was 180 miles south from Fukushima (sp?). I've been flipping channels like crazy to catch the latest.
My brother was stationed there for many years and loved it. He said it was absolutely beautiful. Does your FSIL like it? How long has he been there?

I also saw that many can't leave. There is no gas for cars, busses etc. so they are stuck. It's just incredible.

I've been reading the survival stories about the people who survived the earthquake only to watch their family and friends get swept out to sea by the tsunami. It is so horrific!
