Mitt Romney introduces his wife as heavyweight champion

Hahaha-Mitt Romney recently stepped in it when he introduced his wife, Ann, recenty as "heavyweight champion" of his life. She was definitely a good sport about it though.
However he meant it, I'd be a little ticked off if my husband referred to me as a "heavyweight". I'd feel as though all eyes would forever be checking out my rear to see just how heavy I really was. lol- I don't think I could adapt to being the significant other of a political candidate because of all the attention and scrutiny-could you?

Politics aside, I would be furious in any situation if that was said about me! By definition, a heavyweight is
LOL! When you're in politics, you have to be aware of the nuances of every thing that comes out of your mouth! I think she certainly gets points for taking it in stride and offering a laugh over it. Honestly though, guys tend to think in sports terminology, so if he'd referred to her as his "feather weight" champion, that may have seemed less insulting to the female gender but a definite downgrade to the males.
Could I adapt to being the SO of a political candidate? Heck no, my mouth gets me in enough trouble as it is; especially since it tends to house my foot so often! :smileywink:

Politics aside, Mitt Romney seems to have a hard time when he gets off script...... I think his wife has said, he should let her do it so he can see how it is 'done'.
