My granddaugher is here...

Hi Cheryl. London is 9 days old today and still living. She's on the ventiltor but they say she is now trying to breathe some on her own. The valves that were open in her heart are closing and her lungs are looking better. While she did have significant bleeding in her brain, they say she is alert and active and those are good signs. She did have to have emergency surgery to place a drainage tube in her intestintes on Friday but she seems to be recovering well. They've told us that rather than focus on hour by hour we can now start looking at day by day with her so all that seems like some good news. She is very fragile and sick but we've been told she does have an excellent change for survival so that is definitely better than news we got last week.

I can't tell you how much we appreciate everyone's thoughts, concerns and prayers. The prayer is working and we can't thank everyone enough!
