Pregnant at 50 years old?

Wow-can you imagine? Would you consider it? I'm having enough trouble trying to find the energy to be grandma-much less new mom again-and I'm not yet 50.

According to this iVillage article (complete with picture of 50 year old pregnant mom):

Delayed motherhood is nothing new. Thanks to modern medicine and sheer luck, women have been having babies past 40 for a while now. Juxtaposed with the train wrecks on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant, giving birth at 40 seems downright brilliant. And clearly, more and more people agree: In 2008, about 8,000 babies were born to women 45-plus, more than double the number in 1997, according an article in New York. And over 500 of these children were born to women who were 50 years old or older -- that’s a 375 percent increase. READ MORE: Pregnant After 50

I'm in my late 40's with a 6 year old and having the energy to keep up with her is exhausting.

the problem with being pregnant at 50 or later would be having the energy to keep up with them in you 60's when they are teens. Also health problems for both would be a factor as well.

I say CONGRATS to anyone who is pregnant no matter what the age if they really want a child and can give them all the love they need......

I am 43 and would love to finally get pregnant - but I can't imagine pregnancy past age 45.
