Yeah we all had those feelings, something went wrong, we got in trouble, etc.  So when you get that feeling as an adult, how do you deal with it?  How do you "run away" now?

Sounds like you use the time to clear your head and find a solution.  What a great plan!

It sounds to me as if you are an adventurous soul.  I wish that I had a more adventurous soul.  I enjoy traveling but always love coming back home.

I am always wanting to run away.. Actually I have been doing that since 2006 when I left my abusive exH.. I ran out the door to another state and then another state.. I then ran back to marital home for divorce and then after that wound up back at the other state with a friend. Then that wasnt good so I left  there and wound up back with  my sis and mom. Now have been here for four years and I want to run again.. My friend thinks I have ADHD.. I think I am just a gypsy and Bohemian and I love the lifestyle.. yet with my limited income and all I cant seem to maintain this lifestyle and at 58 I guess I have to grow up (lol)

I would love to travel by RV but have no one who will go with me or anyone who would just hop a train with me.. I wouldnt do it alone as I am just a big chicken when it comes to that..

Walking is great and that does clear my head and helps me alot also..

Also going out with friends and restaurants is another way of getting away and feeling good...

That's another great way to "get away".  So do you order something sensible or do you "treat" yourself to something on the more "sinful" side of the menu?  LOL

That's a great method to handle it.  It's amazing how a nice walk can help clear your head enough to come up with a solution to the problem.

I treat myself out to a restaurant all by myself. Some people feel odd eating by themselves but I find it gloriously restful. There is something about being waited on that makes be feel good even if the server is just bringing me water and a napkin.

Good question! I usually will lay my cell phone on the sink and head out to walk for a few hours by myself. By the time I get back I've usually sorted things out in my mind and developed a plan to get through whatever it is I want to run away from.
