By now most everyone knows that the US perfect credit rating has been slightly tarnished. Are you concerned at all that it is going to affect you?
I am sure it IS affecting me, but I am not willing (or brave enough) to look at my portfolio right now, lol!

I am with you...
I just find it sad that Standard and Poorer (and yes, I do know what I typed.. ) who missed the junk bond and all that crap and left them at AAA+ now feels the need to downgrade a country that has not missed a payment is not likely to miss a payment based on S&P's thoughts on the government...
Did you see that Warren Buffet says if possible USA should have AAAA+ rating?
Okay, here's my two cents for what they are worth.
I have oftened wondered why we help other countries when we are not in shape to help. We are now set to take from the elderly, middle class, and students, but the richest people in this country are not asked to sacrifice anything.
Does this remind you of any other period in our nation's history?
As they wage war on the middle class, I wonder if we really even are middle class. I grew up thinking my parents were middle class. I was an adult and looking back figured out we weren't. We were probably upper lower class.
